What are my options for private insurance while I wait for MSP?

I am currently waiting for my AOR from CIC so I can apply for my wife to have coverage as a spouse who is applying for permanent residents. Until then we need coverage so that she can see a specialist about her new pregnancy. What are my options and what does everyone recommend? I would love if I could find a private insurance company that is willing to cover me the same as MSP.

Assume you'll need to pay for these visits yourself.

There are insurance companies that cover pregnancy related costs - however the insurance needs to be purchased before the person is actually pregnant. Since she's already pregnant, they're not going to cover you.

As I'm sure you can appreciate, insurance companies are in the business of making money - so they're not going to sell you an insurance policy they know will cost them more than you pay in fees.
