What are my chances please?

Hey all, im a 21 year old British Citizen. I am looking to move to Canada, it has always been a dream of mine and now believe i have seen enough in England to start chasing this dream. I have 2 years previous experience as a Debt Collector and Financial Adviser, 2-3 play work Experience working with kids and a year working as a night porter in a local hotel. I also have an NVQ in "introduction to play work" qualification. What are my chances of 1. being given PR and 2. finding work in those specific fields 3. finding work full stop and 4. finding an employer in those sectors willing to fill out the relevant paperwork to help me migrate. Any help would be great as iv spent countless hours reading through internet articles. Thank guys!

It is hard to find an employer willing to do paperwork and it doesn't seem that you have much in the way of education. However, there is a way in and that would be through a working holiday visa. You would have a 1 year open work permit which would allow you to find employment without needing any further paperwork. That is the foot in the door so to speak. You can extend that by another year but you need to play your cards right if you want to immigrate.

One of the ways to immigrate would be that you land a skilled job and through a 1 year skilled work experience can apply for your PR under Canadian experience class. Another way would be if you end up in a province that allows semi-skilled occupations and end up working in one of the occupations allowed under that provinces PNP. Then you could possibly be sponsored by your employer. Of course it is also possible that during your 2 years in Canada, you will fall in love and get married. If that happens, your spouse could sponsor you for PR.

Okay thanks for your reply. Is it hard getting a holiday work visa? Would i have to come over and then find employment? if so how difficult would that be? And one final question, are there currently any provinces that allow semi-skilled workers?

Thank you for your advice though, it seems this would be the best route for me to at least enjoy living in Canada for a year

They are currently out of visas for this year so you would have to be ready to apply when they open again in the new year. If you get a visa for 2014, you need to enter Canada some time in 2014 and then you have a year from that date. In early 2015, you could apply again to get another year. This is an open permit so you do not need to find a job beforehand.

However, if you want to immigrate, you should be looking for either a skilled job in any province or a semi-skilled job in AB or BC that falls under their PNP's. To see which jobs they are, look here:

A skilled job is better because then you can apply for your immigration if you work full time for a year regardless but the semi-skilled, you'd need your employer to want to sponsor you. If you want to immigrate, you better play your cards right. You do not want to waste your two year open work permit working jobs that can not lead to your immigration. A two year open work permit is an opportunity that most people in the world do not have. It is only a handful of countries that participate in these working holiday programs and you are lucky to be from one of them.
