Hi,

I received my ECA report from WES report last month, but was surprised to see that my MBA degree from ICFAI University was provided canadian equivalency of Bachelor's degree (4 years).

A friend of mine (who has same MBA from ICFAI University with same tenure) also applied ECA from WES with me and he got canadian equivalency of Master's degree.

When I raised the issue with WES, they replied with a mail almost a month later that they have reconfirmed my report and will not change it. They provided a very generic response in that mail about their policies. After that mail, I tried to highlight that there is a mistake as my friend got a Master's equivalence for the same degree. However, all my subsequent communications with them have fallen flat as they are not responding at all.

Could anyone please advise me on what next steps can I take or should I apply for ECA from other organisations, such as ICES.

Thanks in advance!

This ECA report will give you 7 points less than Masters. So, if your CRS is 440+ with this report, then just go ahead.

Else, you can try sending your degree for evaluation at IQAS. They take 12 weeks for an ECA.

Thanks for the reply!

Due to this, my CRS is now 439 and I am now planning to get evaluation done from IQAS. Do you think there is a chance that they may evaluate differently than what WES did?

Chance is there. Try your luck in IQAS. Do send only your Masters Degree to them for ECA.

at 439, you will get an invitation under next round for sure.

Really appreciate your inputs!

So, I need to send only my Master's degree for evaluation? Their website also says that only highest completed educational credential needs to be assessed.

Hi there... my Master's degree was mentioned as degree from a non-recognized institute by WES. Like you mentioned, they provided the same generic response to me and wouldn't re-consider to change it. I would like to know if you got your masters assessed by any other organization and did you get a positive report.

I did not get assessment from any other agency. If you want to get yours reassessed, you can try IQAS as suggested by mr.preetsingh. I also found IQAS to be a suitable assessment agency through my research. You can also search for its review and timelines on other threads in this forum.

I have already applied through IQAS, they asked me to confirm the study center/campus name. I am really hoping to get a positive ECA report by next week.

Hi Swethaa, Did you get your ECA report from IQAS ? Have they recognized your degree as Masters ?Please help me, as I also have MBA degree from ICFAi hyderabad.

Hi pooja,
IQAS gave me a refund and did not access my MBA, since Distance education students have no campus/study center.
