Hey Guys. I have a question, i hope i get an answer!
I am in Canada under closed work permit, i applied for pr under skilled worker (Arranged Employment). If i apply for welfare, Do you think it will harm my pr application process?

I'm not sure why this is under family class?

Anyways, for skilled worker class, there is a financial requirement, so applying for welfare is probably going to null it.. but that's just my quick understanding.

As a Canadian citizen who pays taxes.... well, no comment.

I don't understand how you can qualify under the arranged employment category if you are no longer working for your employer. To qualify under this category, you still have to have a valid job offer (which I assume you no longer do). So the welfare question is moot.

Yes, there is a financial requirement for non-Canadian citizens and VO will track your financial history via background check. Having amassed a large amount of debt or currently drawing on the public purse will be taken into account by VO. This is a good thing as Canada is not a giant pinata full of money for anyone to poke a stick at.

But you're obviously planning on doing so - otherwise you wouldn't have asked the same question 7 different times in various sections of the forum.

Since your question is specific to the skilled worker program, please stick to posting in that section of the forum.

I dunno what would happen. I recommend "someone" should try it and find out. Do notify us regarding results. Whomever tries....

What do you mean by welfare? Do you mean EI, EI is not welfare as when you are working you pay into it. Other then that, I highly doubt you would qualify for welfare it is restricted to PR's and Citizens. Also even if you some how managed to get welfare, yes that would look really bad as you have to show you are able to support yourself. Last thing Canada needs is people from the outside leeching of the system.

Hey Buddy, it is not ur f businesses! if u dont like my question, then dont f answer!
u dont tell me what to do!

There's no need to use that kind of language, no matter what the circumstances are.

Going on welfare has different effects if you are a PR under a Federal Skilled Worker program or under a Family Class one. This section is for Family Class, we don't deal with the requirements put in place for FSW. That is why you should stick to the FSW section - you will get the best help there.
