Weird call from Nova Scotia to my boss??

Hi, so I haven't received ITA or anything yet, I just have an invitation for Working holiday work permit, and haven't even applied yet.

Yesterday my boss and I were driving in the car and somebody called him from Nova Scotia. He didnt answer. I have accidentally found out that my visa is being processed there couple of weeks ago when I had some technical problem, so WTF?

Is there in your opinion any chance it might be CIC? My boss doesnt have any connections in NS and doesnt even know where it is. LOL. I didnt tell him I applied yet so this might be an awkward situation if someone from CIC decides to call him now. I hope it's a fake call or some scam.

Really I cant think of any reason for somebody to call him in this phase because I didn't even send them any reference letter or anything (post ITA phase)...

If you don't have a submitted or pending application it's not going to be CIC. He basically got a call from someone in Nova Scotia. Anyone. I wouldn't worry. Maybe they were trying to sell the dream of Canada

Maybe he is post-ITA who knows, business is not going well recently My boss might get there before I do. Sigh.

Nobody is ever going to call from CIC especially not for a WHV that you have not even had an ITA for yet so assume you are still in the pool. Have you by any chance sent your resume out to anyone in Canada ?

Can the province or CIC call your boss without your approval? My worry is with my current employer, they don't know anything abt my plans.

May be your boss has applied for NS PNP, and he didn't want you to know

No definitely wasnt that, at least he didnt mention anything to me, I think it was just an eerie coincidence. Except he applied yes there's always a possibility

But when I sent some CV's out there, of course there is my company web and contact so in theory anybody could contact your current/ex employer - why not?

ps. CIC can call your boss only when you get ITA, so when you already send a reference letter blabla.. and by then the boss should know too

That's just random marketing call. I also received tons even from other provinces. Youve just received your ITA and don't have AOR yet. No biggie!
