I lived once in North West Ontario and now I'm planing to live in Halifax because I read it was the best weather in Canada. However I'm reading about hurricane season. Is this common every year? How bad it is? Is Sandy hitting Canada?

Somehow, I do not think that Nova Scotia has the best weather in Canada but I guess it depends on what you like. Have you looked into your job opportunities in Halifax? Make sure you can get a job there before you move.

I grew up in NS and although I did love it we definitely experienced every season. They do tend to get the tail ends of hurricanes but they are mostly downgraded by the time they get to NS but there have been some memorable storms to hit NS. There are a quite a few times I can remember the fireworks getting cancelled for Canada Day due to fog. I will say that I remember a time when I was growing up that school was cancelled because it was going to be -25C and that was too cold and when we moved to Alberta when I was a teen they all laughed at us when we thought school would be cancelled because it was ONLY -25 and school didn't get cancelled until it was -50 there...
