Does anyone have any experience with sending their passport to VFS in Moscow? Have others just dropped off their passport there?
Well I think it's the best thing you can do if your PA is from Moscow and they allow it. The alternative is to mail them the passport, sign an agreement with them AND postal service and pay different fees to different suppliers. Check out their 'apply by mail' tab (https://visa.vfsglobal.com/rus/en/can/apply-visa). It's crazy. It was so much better when you could just send documents to the Embassy. I wonder why they did that.

I see. Thank you for your help.

Such an unnecessary middle man

We will probably try drop off the passport in person.

One more question with regards to the COPR. Does COPR come through physical mail or does it get sent through GCKEY like all other letters?
From what I know, you get it along with your passport when you send it in for the PPR thing. I should be getting my passport in the next few days, so I'll get back to you on that if no one else knows :p

From my experience who you don't need your passport stamped then it comes through GCKey and also you get a paper copy through the post. I am not sure how it works if you need to get your passport stamped. I hope that helps!! :)

as far as I know, back when I was a rep, there used to be something like IMM1000 form "Record of landing" or IMM5292 - The old COPR, which later was replaced by a printed-out sheet IMM5688 - The new COPR (I don't know if it's still what they use). I've had it sent by mail, but I don't see why they can't send it by e-mail or how does this new online deal work. My understanding was that the printed-out document itself is worthless until signed by the immigration officer at the POE. That's when the PA becomes a landed immigrant and a permanent resident... but before signature, it's just a piece of paper.
