Just want to update everyone and thank everyone for the support.
Passport got held up in customs due to the pictures they sent back to us and the airport security thought it was something bad I guess. We got lucky with a kind officer who spoke to management and let us travel 300 km to the airport and come pick it up . Everything is great. LEAVING TO CANADA DAY AFTER YOMORROW !!!!!!! Want to wish everyone luck and a fast and safe arrival and process!!!!

Thank you SO much !!! I am so happy .
Warsaw is wonderfully fast. 4 months basically and everything was done.
Congratulations, zayceva!!! All best for your new life :)

For me, still no tracking for the envelope with COPR from Ottawa, and in Monday it's going to be a week since they got it :(

It took ours a few days more then a week to start its way back... It will be okay! You're already in Canada.. Its so much easier to deal with the wait then having to do it from here you know. Especially after living there for 11 years and then coming to Belarus and being here for a year without parents and everything you lived up for this whole time

Quick question.. What and how did everyone write their lists for the landing that they ask for ? (Aka what's in your luggage)

Now lady let's not fret about your landing! :) they never even asked my wife. Given that you are already in Canada it will be a breeze. My wife did not have a list.
I will miss the both of you

Thanks baffiee!

I would appreciate if anyone who has experience with Polish documents told me what they did:

did you:
1. have an original document translated by a certified translator, who attached a copy of the document and a sworn clause " I xyz hereby confirm/certify etc that this translation is true to the original" etc - and then did you go to a notary and ask the lawyer (notary) to notarize the certified translation?? If so, did you find a notary who had a notarization template in English? Or did you have to have it notarized in Polish and then... have the notarization translated by a certified translation into English? and then submit the whole document, the original, the translation, and the notarizaton OR:
2. have an original document translated by a certified translator, who attached a copy of the document and a sworn clause " I xyz hereby confirm/certify etc that this translation is true to the original" etc and then just submitted the original and the certified translation with your application?

Please let me know!
@Lady_Ashka (is it possible to tag people in questions? sorry im new here). What did you end up doing in this situation? My husband recently went to get his documents notarized and the notary said that they can only notarize in Polish. Did you end up getting the notarization translated by a certified translator? So just to clarify, they refused to write the phrase "I certify that this is a true copy of the original document" in english. They will only write it in Polish.

I believe she then translated it by a certified translator.

Hey there! (You can also write personal messages to people, in case they no longer follow a given thread).

I had my original birth certificate translated by a certified translator and that was that (they put in the clause certifying that the translation is true to the original in English). For my Mum's letter of support, which was written in Polish, I had a Polish notary notarize it first (so the clause was in Polish) and then took the whole thing to a certified translator and so there was a certified translation clause there in English as well, including of the translation of the notarization ;) We just got approved, and there were no problems. Hope this helps!
