Hi All,

I will share what we did for my fiancee, any document which was not in English (this being in Dutch/ Polish) did not require a notarization, it required that it was translated into English via a sworn translator. The only documents that needed to be translated was the Polish Criminal Record Check and this was done by a sworn translator who provided his stamp etc. Likewise, our mortgage and income tax records from the Netherlands were translated into English via Dutch sworn translator. Nothing went through a notary. This is our experience from the last 2-3 months when all these were done. Hope this helps.

Hopefully you either got lucky or will get a vo on a good day. All required documents either have to be originals if stipulated or certified translated copies. CIC's definition of certified includes notarizing. Any additional documents you send are at your discretion as to what you do in relation to translation and notarization. Having said that this process seems very inconsistent. We decided to follow the above direction.

Yes, printed all pages with stamps + main page with picture, signed & dated.

For each section, we made a table of contents, indicating what was attached and why.
Additionally, we made an introduction to the attachment, which acted as a cover page outlining why it's attached and in support of what document.

CIC gets rid of all of those tables of contents and numbers we assign and arranges the package into one big application. Starts with sponsor and finishes with Relationship info. It looks nothing like what you send in. Spend your energy on the contents and presenting it neat and tidy. Put it into three big envelopes for the three categories and then inside of a bigger envelope. Mark the envelopes and let them organize it further.

The last relationship section was around 4cm thick so we used a big elastic to bind it
We included a nice introduction on the very top and put the whole package inside of an accounting folder.
We couldn't find a big enough enveloped to put the entire thing into so we shipped it inside of a cardboard box
Given that the accounting folder was hard covered and the cardboard box was a little bigger, we wrapped it with bubble foil lol..
We were laughing that when someone opens this thing they will have a good laugh about our masterpiece

That sounds great. I see some people making tabs and all kinds of strange arrangements. I was surprised but had to laugh when I saw my application after they were done with it. Helped break a very stressful moment.

I think the effort pays off. Just like going for a job interview. If you prepare, are neat & organized, then you end up making a good impression.

The package is stripped down at the very first stage. Long before either the sponsor process or the respective vo gets their hands on it. I have even heard all they see now is an electronic copy which would make sense. Mine looked either ready for a scanner or a shredder

Question on the side of passport requests, did you guys guys get an e-mail communication or mail?
Furthermore, do you pickup the CoPR from the embassy or does it get shipped via mail?
