My partner had her interview today; literally a couple of confirmation questions...she was called in after the interview 5 minutes later to say that all is good with docs and PR is approved; just need PR fee, update medical , scan of passport, and thats it! Process took 5 months total at warsaw VO...we have 1 year to land as medical will be done next week! Good forum! :D

The visa is typically valid for 6 months. So just be careful of the dates and make sure you follow what's on the visa stamp.

Thnks for that heads up...things must have changed because visa officer said the visa will be valid for 1 year from when the new medicals come through :-)

Oh okay... the medical is typically valid for 1 year, but the visa's were up to 6 months or when the medical expired... whichever came first. Things must have changed this year. :)

My wife who is in Russia forgot to send me her birth certificate. I do have her identity passport. Should I delay and wait another two weeks for her to send the birth certificate or do you think the identity pasdport will be enough?

Anyone have any experience with workbook's? I mistakenly forgot to send my spouse's. Is it hard to add missing documents? Is a workbook a big deal? Any comments appreciated

I would wait for them to request it. They won't refuse you because you forgot to add it, but probably they will ask to send it. Is your application transferred to VO? If you have a file number you can try to add via specific case inquary, but without file number it might get lost.

Hi! First of all, I wouldn't suggest sending in any additional papers before they have been requested by CIC. I think, it is a big deal as it has been listed alongside all the other documents that must be submitted. In my case, I never had any workbook as we don't use them in my country anymore. I don't know about Russia. I simply explained on a separate sheet of paper why I am not providing it. Instead I included a reference letter from my previous employer as well as an official reference letter from the State's Social Insurance Agency about my previous job. Was good enough for them! :) Just wait! If anything is missing, they will let you know promptly!
Good luck! ;)

I had my interview today. Was super nice people and got CoPR right away after :) will land in 3 weeks :) got worried for no reason. If you are honest with them then the interview won't be an issue. I am super pleased with how nice they were. :)

Wooow! So quickly! Congratulations! :D
Exactly! If you have nothing to hide and your relationship is genuine, then there is completely nothing to worry about! :)
We are landing on May 2nd. Can't wait!
Let us know how it went!

Take care!

Congrats! This gives me great hope for our timeline :)

Just wondering why this thread is so quiet? Not many applications or a slow vo? I will soon have a file sent to Warsaw.

It's not as slow as some other VOs, but it's been quiet.
It will also depend on what country you or your spuce from.

We've applied in October, just got GCMS notes, and so far nothing has progressed, will be ordering another set of notes next month

My wife is from Warsaw and my file wasn't sent there... Instead it was kept in Mississauga.

My wife is Russian but any thoughts as to why you would have been sent to Mississauga instead of Warsaw?

There was a period last year where so-called "simple" cases were sent there. As far as I know, only visa-exempt nationals were processed in Mississauga, and the processing time was really fast. It did seem somewhat random, as some really straightforward cases were still forwarded to the VO abroad.
