Wow, great timing! I'm not 100% sure about that, but from what I heard you have to arrange courier. I think they will return you some documents you sent with your application too, so for sure you can save lots of money if you sent it to Warsaw instead to Toronto ;)
I'm in Vancouver, but I don't know yet if I'll go to Warsaw to get COPR or have it sent here...

it's also only from 2015, so may be useful for applicants in the future, but does not tell us anything as far :D
and I assume I can't add my timeline, as I am from 2014.

maybe we should make spreadsheet for warsaw only?
i just did it, hope it will work correctly:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ViBYGKnCMbURhsFRLnzIR59YmsV8l07MsqicPMBWrN4/edit?usp=sharing
let me know if we need to change anything

i will make new thread, so everybody can see the excel file from the beginning, ok?

mertik, that's good news my friend. Once they receive that the next thing that will happen depends on if you need a visa or not, you will either be asked for your passport for visa stamping, or you will get your copr in the mail.

When my wife was asked for more documents and photocopy of her passport, almost immediately after they received this she was being asked to send her passport.

Hope this helps.

Hello,

I have started preparation for applying for PR trough Warsawa visa office and while I am reading the checklist, I have few questions:
I understand that original documents (in my native language) needs to be translate by an official translator, but is there a list of official translators somewhere or can it be done in my country by any officially translator? This part is a bit tricky for me as I am not sure how to make translated documents look valid. Should I put apostille on them as well?

Also, this part was a bit tricky to understand:

"Labour record

You must submit a copy of your workbook and that
of your spouse or common-law partner (if they
are not the sponsor) and your chil
dren 18 years of age or older. The photocopy and translation into
English or French must be notarized. Reference le
tter(s) from your employer(s) not included in
your workbook are also required."

I am 30 years old, so technically I was born in former USSR state, but I have no idea what this labour record and workbook is all about.

I hope someone can answer that. Most of you are probably quite deep in the process and I am just starting, so I am a bit overwhelm by information I need to provide.
Thank you and good luck for you all in getting you PR.

Owl29, where are you from? If you are from Russia, so here are the answers:

1. You don't need apostile for your documents. But you have to notarize them. Some people notarize just the translation, as for me, i thought that it s not quite correct, so I was doing the following procedure: notarized the copy of the document i need to send, after translated it in english in the translation agency and when the translation is done, notarized the translation. Usually, most of the translation agencies have the services of notarization with them, so it s quite easy, just a bit pricey.
2. You can choose any translation/notarization agency in the city (better trusted), there is no lists of official translators for Canada.
3.Labour record. I am not sure, how it works in other countries of the former USSR, but again if you are from Russia, labour record - it s your "Трудовая книжка". If you don't have it at all, or if in your workbook some of the places where you were working are missing (no records), then you will need to ask a Reference letter from that employer.

PS, don't forget that you will also need notarized and translated copies of your diplomas as proof of studies.

Good luck!

Thank you for your answers. I am myself from Lithuania, so this labour book is quite tricky, as we used to have it some years ago, but not anymore. I don't recall having one myself, but if I had, it's long gone, as it wasn't used anymore.

I already have most documents notarized, so that's great. I was just thinking is it enough. I guess yes.

If the work book is a concern you could always include a short note explaining why you didn't include it in the application. As short paragraph telling them that your country was no longer using work books by the time you were working age should suffice. I've read that Russia (where my wife is from) is no longer using them either, we changed hers a little bit and there were no questions asked.

As mcbeth said, just include an explanation that you never had a work book. I am from Russia and we still use them in most places but I never had one either. I was never employed at government organisations where those are still a must, so never got one. I wrote a cover letter saying my employment history never involved a job requiring a work book, was mostly freelancing and contract jobs, and said that reference letters from my employers are attached. The work book is pretty much used to track your employment history, kind of used to be a replacement for references. So if you include references from all the places you say you worked at on the forms you are good.
