Hi all,
We just received our PR status. Will be relocating soon. We'd like to bring our babysitter with us LEGALLY temporarily, for 6 months or so.
What would you recommend to do?

You'll need to follow the live in caregiver process. I don't believe this is something you can start until you are in Canada.

Also note this may be a long process. You should prepare that you will be in Canada without your nanny for a while, and possibly not at all if you can't secure her a proper visa as live-in caregiver (I believe it depends on her education/qualifications).

You can't bring your babysitter legally with you legally because the only visa you can get fast would be a visit visa and that would not allow her to work. If you like her a lot and want to bring her to Canada with you long term, you can apply for her work permit as a live in caregiver but it may take months until the permits are processed and she can join you.

She's a professional worker in this case given she's delivering a service & getting paid for it. A work permit is required. No idea if that can be arranged prior your landing trip but I would guess the chances are slim given the work sponsor (yourself & your family) are not residents in Canada yet.

You can however postpone your kid's relocation until your nanny's work permit is secured.
