Dear All,

I want to apply for Visit visa to visit my daughter in Canada, she is a Canadian passport holder, along with her family, she is willing to send me the invitation letter along with all her ids, and bank statements.

I Am a retired person and am a senior citizen, i dont have any income at the moment with 2Lakhs INR bank balance, i am dependent on my son who is working in UAE, he sends me money every month, i have visited to UAE along with my wife many times, i have never visited my daughter, she desperately wants me and my wife to visit her for few months say 2-3 months. then back as me and my wife both are senior citizens and cannot hold Canadian winters. Here back in India we are having a flat worth say 60 Lakhs in current valuation on my wife name, and here in India am having my younger son with his family.

One of my friend who is having good bank balance, he is having good business here in India with good bank balance, and i work for him unofficially (without any pay slips or something), he is willing to sponsor my trip, he is willing to offer a letter and provide his bank statements, with his IT return. will this work for me.

Should i apply for a visitor visa along with my wife, as we have never visited her in years, she is been in Canada from many many years. Your kind advise will be really helpful

Do you get a pension from the government?

How is this money remitted to you?

i have visited to UAE along with my wife many times,
How long have you typically stayed on each visit to the UAE?

When you apply for a visa, you must have a definite visit plan. It cannot seem like an open-dated visit, nor a vague 2-3 months or few months. It must be precise to the intended dates of the visit. These dates can change later when you actually visit.

Was it purchased recently? Was it purchased with income earned by you or your wife or both of you?

and here in India am having my younger son with his family.
Do you live with your younger son?

No, this will not work.

You have been very lucky so far to get away by earning money under the table so to speak.... and not paying your taxes too. If the tax authorities investigate your friend's business then he could be in serious trouble (and you as well)

And about the financial support thing i have read on the cic website.if someone is sponsoring your visit then we need to provide the letter and the statement and relationship with the person. Saying he is sponsoring my visit.

Thank you so much for your quick help @Bryanna appreciate it.

Visitors cannot be 'sponsored' for TRVs/visitor visas. Their hosts can only invite them and support their stay in some ways.

Also, for TRVs, you need to prove that you have the financial resources to afford your visit. Any help from your daughter is secondary

@Bryanna and everyone else please let me know what should i do will be highly appreciated.
1. Do you have any financial investments: FDs, RDs, mutual funds, shares, etc?

2. Can your son (the one you live with) support your visit by paying for it?

3. Are your grandchildren minors and dependent on you? For example, if your son and his wife work, you take care of the grandchildren?

4. Do you volunteer for social, religion or charity causes? If yes, do you have any strong reasons to return to India because of this?

5. Do you have any compelling reasons to return to India at the end of your visit? For example, a wedding or an event in the immediate family?
