Family and mental health is more important than any job out there. Of course it's completely up to OP to review and make a decision. He's not asking for anyone's help with making a decision if to resign from their job. He's trying to evaluate what would be the most suitable country to have that meeting with his family.

I have been providing the same job advice to everyone irregardless of immigration status in Canada for the past 2ish years and longer for tech jobs. This is not the time to leave a job without another one lined up. Seeing your family is certainly important for your mental health but that can also be done by only traveling during your paid leave. Being homeless in Canada and unable to send money home to support your family (which is fairly common) is not great for your mental health either. By leaving your job you also don’t qualify for employment insurance.
