anyone knows what type of letter is need to do ? is there a form ? what type of document are they requesting ?

My daugther is 9 yrs old , lives in the USA with her mother , Her mother has full custody. I provided a letter acknowledging that i would not be able to sponsor her in the future at the time of interview , immigration officer said the letter was not enough .

Please provide more information .

How old is your Daughter ?
Are you applying inland ?
Have you been sponsered ?

If you have said you do NOT want to sponser your daughter or she does NOT want to live in Canada , this means you CANNOT sponser her in the future , so your local office will ask you to go in and write a letter of declaration saying you understand you CANNOT sponser her in the future.

If this is what you are asking ?

Note the letter should contain the following information and should be notarized.

10.
NON-ACCOMPANYING FAMILY MEMBERS DECLARATION
If you have family members who do not intend to emigrate to Canada with you, you must submit a notarized statutory declaration with your application which:
•identifies these family members and their relationship to you;
•states your intention to proceed to Canada without them; and
•indicates whether or not you wish these persons to retain eligibility to be sponsored by you once you have settled in Canada.

If you have any sort of relationship with the child's mother, you may wish to discuss it with her about having the child medically examined by a DMP. So if something happens to the mother or in the future before the child turns 22 it is still possible to sponsor her.

Is the mother refusing medicals? If you are still on speaking terms with her, try to talk to her and explain. Like PMM said, if something happens to the mother and your daughter did not have medicals, you would not be able to sponsor her. If nothing happens to the mother and the daughter decides later, say age 18 or 20 that she might like to come to Canada for a while, you would still not be able to sponsor her and she may not thank her mother at that time for taking that opportunity away.

If the mother listens to no reason, try to get it in writing from her that she is refusing medicals. I suppose you do have some papers showing that she has full custody. Then write your statement saying that because the mother has full custody and refuses medicals, the matter is out of your control and you realize that you will never be able to sponsor your daughter in the future because of that.

tim so u notarized your letter ?

I don't know if its any different from a Father with dependants than a Mother , me being the Mother did NOT have to have the letter Notarised ..all I had to do was go to my local office and write a declaration letter and sign it , explaining that my dependants will never be able to be sponsered by me in the future and that I have given my dependants plenty of opportunity to live here in the future.. ::)

i take the letter to cic office but they told me i have to go and notorise it befor thay can acept it if you will like to see the copy or to know how to write it let me know and i will post the copy on the forum

If you have been advised to have the letter notarised you should have it done .

I took the letter to be notarized , just to be safe as I only have 10 days to send the information requested.

Better to be safe than sorry :)
