Waiting for PR In Canada on a working holiday

Hi All,

I currently hold a NZ passport and am living in Canada on a experience Canada work permit. I've applied for my PR last year (my partner is Canadian) and looking online it's currently in the finial stages. My question is will my PR be granted while I have an open ongoing work permit? Also I had to get my driving history from BC last week (now in Alberta) and they told me that immigration had put my licence on hold? What does this mean?

One of the reasons I ask this is a friend from NZ applied for his Spouse sponsored PR after me and moved to Canada with his Canadian partner on a holiday visa and has already had his PR approved.

Being here on a work permit has no effect on the PR app. I hope you updated your address with IRCC so that your COPR is sent to your Canadian address.

I suggest you contact the licensing authority to clarify that situation.

Thanks for the reply! I did update my contact details yes. Although is there a way to contact them to make sure it all went through etc?
