Hello Guys,

Just a little advice for all of you guys coming to canada and especially for the ones who recently got their passports stamped.

Do attend the "Seminar" which is held by canadian government for the new immigrants before leaving Pakistan. The invitation you will get along with your stamped passport visa. it is very beneficial and useful and helped me alot in preparing for the trip. (i landed in canada in first week of february).

While coming here, do prepare 2 lists. One list comprises of "Goods to declare" and the other one "Goods to follow".

Goods to Declare List

All the electronic items that you are bringing to canada, write their serial numbers along with their approximate value in canadian dollar.
All the other stuff like clothes, shoes, etc....just write them along with their approximate value in canadian dollar

Simply write them on a white paper. It does not have to be even printed. An example of it is

1.) Dell Laptop Sr# 1234er45355 01 Nos 1000 CAD
2.) Dell Charger Sr# 1246rtyt 01 Nos 100 CAD
3.) Clothes 50 CAD
4.) Shoes 40 CAD
5.) Toiletries 10 CAD

The exact values are not required. The approximate ones will do so.

make a list of all the items which you will bring later. Like furniture, jewellery etc. These things can be brought on later without paying any custom duties or taxes.

Even if you dont make these lists, it wont be an issue because then they will ask you to make a list at the airport. I feel that the journy is already very long and tiring,that this will further delay the matters at the immigration counter.

Sam Did you get your passport back.Any idea how long nowadays they are taking by Islamabad people like you said we would have get PPR2 first week of February so we received on 2nd Feb 2-1-12 Inshallah very lucky day.. and now please calculate for Passport last step would have taken how long.Replay soon.Thanks

Thanks Asif yes of course gather all members at one platform from Karachiians.Inshallah we are waiting for our passport hopefully will be leaving after the exams on June 2012 to St,John's.What are your Plans and final destination, please reply everyone from Karachi.I request everyone..Anyone who got recently stamp at the passport from Islamabad how long it would have taken after sending passport to islamabad for final process.Thanks
