I am a QSW applicant who's been waiting for PPR for about a year now (AOR:Jul 2012). I am here on my study permit but it's going to be expired in about 4 month and I am already graduated so I cannot apply for extension of my permit. I never expected the waiting for PPR would this much and now with the strike of PAFSO I don't really know what to do. In one hand it's too late to get into a college or something as all the admission offices are closed until winter term. On the other hand it will cost me so much (money, energy) to go back to my home country and wait from there. My questions are:
1. Do I have to leave Canada immediately before my permit expires? or if there is a short time you are allowed to stay before you leave?
2. Considering that being a PR applicant doesn't give you an status, is there anyway that I can extend my stay in Canada for a little while (like 90 days or so) hoping that I'll get PPR by then?
I really appreciate any helps from you guys.
