Waiting for PGWP in India.

Hello everyone,

I don't know if this is the right place for my question as I am new to the forum so please forgive me for newbie mistakes.

I am currently in Canada waiting for my PGWP and my student permit/visa has expired. I applied on July 2 and am still waiting for it. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, I need to go back home to India soon. So, can I go back and wait for my PGWP there? Will there be any problems in coming back if I go back right now? Can I get my visa and permit in India without any problems?

You can wait in India but may not be able to return to Canada if you don't have a job here.

Even though I have a PGWP (Post Graduation Work Permit)?

Yes. Leaving Canada is always going to be a risk until travel restrictions are lifted.
