At work after my first year of employment my boss had to get an LMO so I could get my work permit renewed. He did so and he was told that due to my work experience my wages were $2 dls short, so my boss re-did my LMO raising in paper my wages those $2 dls. I renewed my work permit and I was told to wait for my raise, and I accepted :-[. Now it has been almost a year since this happended and after many reminders my boss did not give me that raise and just explained to me once that I was in fact overrated and he could not give me that raise and that he was forced by the LMO people to say that I was making $2 dls more than my actual salary. For fear of losing my only livelyhood I've been having to deal with this even though my daily duties increased to many other fields besides what I used to do.

As if that was not enough, checking my payment stubs I found out that for more than a year I never received any vacation pay, and recently learned that by law it has to be paid from my first day of work.

Now my boss ignores my new request for an LMO and refuses to talk about it or answer my e-mails, he just evades the questions, this is very discouraging and frustrating. Now he leaves me in the air with no chances to renew my work permit. Fortunately my PR processing it has been running for 5 months already. Any advice in what I should do? My intention is not to damage the company and my co-workers but make things right for both. :-[

Thanks everyone for your time and help!

What are you talking about man?

Read your appointment letter weather the provisions for same are there, if so please remind your boos with the clauses in the appointment letter and take him into confidence ( he is not going to do anything illegal) and send him a copy of your appointment letter along with the copy of law.

This may solve the problem

Sorry if my explanation was not clear. I'm just wandering in what to do in a situation where the wage that was agreed on was not respected and more than 1 year of my vacations was never paid.

Thanks

Just forget it or your boss will make you problems

Sorry to hear this... since you know they are not willing to apply for a LMO, you should be looking for a new employer for your own peace of mind. The employer probably thinks you were fine with this increase on paper only or does not think they have to pay it. Either way, it's awful. If you never agreed to such a plan, may be after getting your pr status, you could talk to a labour lawyer and see what they think. Just never agree to any thing like this again and stay positive.
