Voluntarily Renounce of Permanent Resident Status

Hi All,

First Merry Christmas and Happy holidays to all.

Situation-: My mom is government teacher in India.She is not able to meet the residency obligations as she doesn't get much time off. So we are thinking of renouncing her permanent status. I wanted to ask what are disadvantages apart from obviously loosing the status? For her situation we want to apply for visitor visa as it suits her as her job still has 10 years of service left.
