Hey everyone,

I havent found a topic yet about that.....i know its possible for the applicant to visit their partner in canada. But what about the sponsor? Can my husband leave canada to visit me for 2-3 weeks while our application is in process?

If your spouse/sponsor is a Canadian citizen, there are no restrictions to the amount or length of his visits, except the state of your finances and his obligations to work, of course.

If your spouse is a permanent resident, he cannot take frequent or long visits outside of Canada, as he is required to be resident in Canada in order to remain eligible as a sponsor.

Im the sponsor, canadian citizen, and i am currently with my spouse in mexico waiting for the process to complete.
I entered on a 6 month tourist and my 6 months is almost up. so im heading back to canada for 2 weeks than i will return for the last couple months before my spouse gets his visa.

:)

as long as the sponsor is a canadian citizen, they can go visit the applicant for the whole process if they wish to.
