Visitors Visa Rules and Exceptions

I would like to know the rules and exceptions of a temporary visitors visa? You see my mother is visiting us from the Philippines with a multiple entry visa and I know she is allowed to stay for 6 months in Vancouver because there is no date on the stamp. But we visited the US for a week and came back. My question is does this renew her stay for another 6 months? Or does her original entry still in effect? I'm quite confused on how the rules and exceptions plays out. Thank you in advance on all replies

There is no black and white answer. What happens at the border is up to the CBSA officer she encounters. They may allow her back in on her original visit or they may stamp her passport again. It's more likely that they will allow her back in on her original visit. If you want her to remain in Canada longer, then you should apply to extend her visit from within Canada.
