Visitors Visa Renewal

Hello folks,

My mom has a visitor's visa expiring in November 2023. She is presently in Canada and we would need to renew her visa. Upon filling out the forms on CIC website, it indicates that we have to fill IMM 5708 which is for the extension.

My question is if we upload IMM 5708 form, will she be getting her visa renewed for 10 years or just 6 months extension? Kindly assist

She needs to apply for a new TRV, not an extension. You cannot renew a TRV. You have to apply for a new one from scratch.
