Visitors Visa Extension and Open Work Permit

I got married and moved to Canada 5 months ago. I am Greek and lived in California, USA for the past 11 years. My wife is a Canadian Citizen and we just turned in my visitors visa extension application by mail 3 days ago and we came to the realization that maybe we should have completed the work permit section of that applications also. The question is, was it unwise to not fill the Open Work Permit section or was it meant to be filled one case per application? If we should have filled it out, what are our best options?

You won't get a work permit that way.

You either need to find a job that will provide you a LMO to get a closed work permit or apply for Inland spousal PR. You would get a OWP after Stage 1 approval.
