Hello,
I'm currently a visitor in Canada and I'm NOT working here. And I know that I can not occupy a Canadian position in anyway without a proper Work Permit.
However, I have a laptop and Internet connection (and many other things here).
So, can I work as a contractor for a US-based company, or Colombian, or whatever country that it isn't Canada itself, while being here at my home (in Canada)?
I moved to Canada with a Work Permit but now, I'm a visitor still holding a lease contract, 2 cars and other things, while actively searching for a new job here.
Hypothetically speaking... Since I'll not join the Canadian workforce by working remotely, via Internet, to a company that is outside of Canada, I'll not take any Canadian positions, is that okay?
Before getting my Work Permit and move to Canada, I worked as a Contractor to a Canadian company, via Internet, from my home country. And it was totally legal. Now, I want to do something similar, but the other way around, only if it is okay, of course.
Worth to mention that, if this isn't okay, I'll NOT do it! I'm just curious...
Thanks!
