Visitor Visa while Waiting for Work Permit

Hello, we've submitted our work permit applications and are waiting for notification to send original passport to VFS. Is it possible to apply for a visitor visa while we're waiting for the work permit so we can visit Canada to look for apartments and such? Many thanks.

You can try but given that you have applied for WP there will likely be concerns that you are not true visitors and have no plans on returning home. Would personally wait until you have a WP approved/refused. You can still arrive earlier than your start date with a WP.
