Hi,

I have applied for visitor visa for my parents in July 2021 and biometrics results were submitted on September 1st 2021. I am permanent resident and staying in Canada for past 4 years and my parents had visited me in 2019 and then visa expired. I read in the news that applications submitted prior to Sept 7th were required to be submitted again using new portal. To confirm it, I raised a webform multiple times asking this query. But I did not get response which states next steps for me clearly and my application is being in processed in India but I am not sure which office is processing it.

Right now, for new portal applications, processing time is 40 days for Visitor visa and 50 days for Super visa. If anyone can help me with following questions, that would be great!

1. Should I re-apply for visitor visa by withdrawing my existing visitor visa application?
2. Should I re-apply for visitor visa (as a new one) without withdrawing my existing visitor visa application since its already in queue for processing?
3. Should I apply for super visa under grandparents category? They are eligible for it and I am comfortable investing in insurance premium if it decision comes prior Feb 2022.
4. Should I keep my existing application only in the system since nothing really has changed for me?

I am planning to get parents here in Canada in Feb 2022 or March 2022. So which option should I choose to get faster results?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Mike,
Were you able to get visa approved for your parents ? I applied for in laws in august and biometric done in october, but no updates yet, eligibility has not started yet, but it shows application is under process. Did you end up applying again ?
