I'm planning to have my girlfriend visit me in montreal on a visitor visa for 2 weeks. Which we're going to mention in her application and my invitation. I'd like to know however, if she gets approved, will they stamp her 2 weeks on her passport or 6 months? I'm not sure how this works, if anyone could explain the visitor visa duration and how multiple entries works. Also if you could shed more light on the application requirements and process of a TRV. It would be very appreciated.

Thank You.

CBSA will determine at the point of entry how long she can stay based on their assessment at the time, purpose of visit, funds, return ticket , previous visits and so on. They could stamp her passport with a specific date or no date at all meaning a maximum 6 month stay which generally would be the default for most genuine visitors.

Multiple entry means exactly that , authorisation to travel to Canada for a visit multiple times for the duration of the validity of the visa. Still means though that each entry would be assessed by CBSA and is not a guarantee to enter into Canada just an authorisation to travel to Canada with final decision at the entry point each time.

General advice on this forum is to spend as much or more time out of Canada between each visit to avoid implying some intent to live in the country as a visitor even if that is not an actual intent. As with any immigration authorities for any country very easy to over think things and most people come and go on visits without any issues at all.
