Visitor visa question

Hi!
I wonder if anyone can clarify a question I have reference my visitor visa for Canada...
I was granted 6 months visitor visa for Canada to travel around during warmer times here but in the meantime I would like to go to Cuba for a week as flights are cheaper from Canada to go there... my Canadian visitor visa currently expires in October 2018. Do I have the risk of loosing this visa if I leave Canada and be at the mercy of the border agent to decrease the time I got to remain here as a visitor? If someone could please advise I would appreciate before booking Cuba. Thanks

Is it a single or multiple entry TRV (it will say in the corner)? If it's single entry, chances are you won't be allowed to use it to return to Canada from Cuba. If it's multiple entry, you should be fine.
