Visitor Visa - "Purpose of Travel" Documents

Hello

I am a PR holder and is planning to submit a Visitor Visa Application for my Father. I am trying to figure out what document needs to be submitted against the "Purpose of Travel" .

Text from the site :
You must submit proof that you are coming to Canada for a temporary visit. Examples of what you can provide as proof:
A scanned copy of:

1. Your flight ticket departing Canada,
2. Your travel itinerary (e.g. places you will visit or stay, such as hotel booking),
3. Proof of a medical appointment.

Does this mean - that I need to book tickets even before the Visa is granted. At another place they have mentioned not to book the tickets unless the visa is granted. Please suggest.

You don't need to book a ticket. Get a flight itinerary for the planned travel dates.
More important than that is the things your parent (father in your case) is going to be doing in Canada. If it's a short visit, a day by day itinerary is great to have. If the visit is a longer one, mention what they will be doing and explain that if the purpose of travel letter.
