Hello,

I have applied for a visitor visa for Canada for me and my wife. I went to New York Canadian consulate in person and applied. It has already been 15 days and I have not received any kind of communication and passports back from the consulate. I need to travel back to home country. Can you please let me know how long it takes to get passports back or any communication from Canadadian consulate in case they require any document?

Hey, did you hear back from them yet? I applied in person on March 6 and it has been 20 days and I still got no response. I need to attend a conference in Toronto next week and I am still waiting to hear from them.

can you please let me know how old is your wife and why they need her to do the medical exam? I am doing visitor visa for my parents aged above 70. I am afraid they ask them to do the medical exam. they just visit very short time only one week. thank you for your help.

Medical exam is (generally) only needed when the stay (not the visa, but stay) is longer than 6 months. So for a short trip, your parents would not need it.

My TRV is for long stay (Work Permit) that's why the medical was needed.

From what members have reported it is usually 1 month to hear back from them, and if accepted an additional 1 to 2 weeks (max) for passports to be requested/sent/returned (assuming you send them right away)

Is each applicant required to visit the embassy when going in-person Or one of the family members can take the documentation along?

There is a use of representative form that the person needs to fill out if they are sending someone else with there form (i.e. one person taking in the application for multiple people; each person will fill out one form to appoint the person as a representative)

hello, please help.
I sent my passport for visitor visa stamping on 6th Feb 2024 to VFS New York from Dallas, Texas. On the 12th Feb, I got an acknowledgment that VFS received my passport and same day sent it to IRCC and also received it at the IRCC office for stamping.
On the 13th Feb, I received an update that the package was dispatched from IRCC to VFS NYC. After that, there is no update. Scared that my passport got lost or not. what should I do and what delays does anyone else expect as of now?
