You may submit your passport along with the biometric - If you do not need it - to avoid traveling twice and you may ask them to courier it back to Ireland (charges apply) unless it is easy for you to travel to London. Since processing time is 6 days , you will be fine, it may take longer though.
I wish I could but when I travel to submit biometric I need my passport to get back into Ireland. So will definitely use courier option to send it over and also to get it back. Thanks for the tip.

So just submitted an online inquiry reporting a technical difficulty regarding the fact that I still don't have an application number after 5-days.
They stated the following upon submission:

"If your application is within normal processing times you will not receive a reply from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada."

So not expecting a reply any time soon but will see what happens, and update accordingly to share info.

Hopefully you will receive your application number within the next 24 hours. I did receive a reply to my enquiry after 6 days, but the application number was already issued and account updated the following day when I submitted the form.

If you do not receive the number by the end of today , you need to submit an enquiry using the web form. I did wait for 4 days then I submitted an enquiry and got it assigned next day.
They said this won't delay your application processing , but you are under a tight schedule my friend!
Where did you apply from and did you check the processing time?

@UBC2017 Thank you so much for your help, wouldn't have got this far without your help. I did as you advised and submitted a technical issue after 5-days for not having received application nr / file number, amazingly after less than 6-hours my application got processed and I received an application / file number much like your case which you mentioned to me.

Now I'm awaiting the final step...document verification and final decision, any idea how long this step usually take, or your best guess?

Much Appreciated, and thanks again for the ongoing help

I am glad you are on the right track now:)
To be honest with you , no one can answer this question it's now between 10 days to 32 days (this is my estimate) , but I've seen applications from Thailand taking longer. Having biometric/background check not required , sometimes , not always helps speed it up.
Sorry for not being able to provide you with a relieving answer , but no one can!
I hope you get it approved before your intended travel date. Good Luck.

Thanks for the quick reply mate. Just out of curiosity, is it as of now that the estimated application time takes effect (once you received the file number) or is the EST application time counted towards the time you submitted your application. Any idea?

But I've seen applications from Thailand taking longer.

Correct me if I am wrong but as I understand it applications done online counts as an application done within Canada... I came to this conclusion since when I had to report the technical problem, there was not an option for reporting it when selecting, "Application done outside of Canada" I had to select "Application done inside Canada" for the option of filling a technical problem...this is just an assumption.
If I am correct the EST time says 10-days.

Cautiously optimistic

According to their website , time counted towards the time you submitted your application, but technically it starts when they open your submitted application(I read this somewhere in their website).

I would love to give you the answer you are hoping for , but that was for reporting a technical issue. You already indicated in your form that you are applying from Thailand. However, I saw one member and his sister applied both from India, his application was processed in India and his sister's was processed in Ottawa. This means processing doesn't necessarily take place in the country where you applied.
I know , it's not easy, but try to relax and hopefully you get it sooner than you expect. Let us know.

Yeah stressful but also fascinated by this whole process gee whiz I lived in London for a while and that was a breeze compared to getting a Canada Visitor visa always thought they were very welcoming in the sense of taking in people....weirdly intriguing and suspenseful

That what it is :)
The processing time for Thailand is 24 days , if you don't get it on the 24th day - hopefully not to reach there - you can submit a web form asking to expedite the process and attach your air ticket specifying that it is non refundable/no cancellation possible.

Oh wow. this is good news for you. hopefully you get in time for travel. I will also report technical issues as I have no update yet too

Hello! I know this thread is from long time ago. But mine is quite the opposite. I received Submission Confirmation. However, I have not received Confirmation of Online Application Transmission yet. Well, this is due to me not realising I need to pay the fees. I paid after 10 days that's when I received ADR too for payment. It has been paid and ADR on review from 21 March 2023 until now. Which is crazy. it has been updated in my AST that they received payment but until now they are still reviewing it and I have not received Confirmation of Online Application Transmission yet. Any idea what should I do?
