VISITOR VISA ONLINE APPLICATION ISSUES

Hello.
Trying to help parents visit from China.
Submitted visitor visa application online.
I keep on getting emails that there is a new notification and that I should check MyCIC, but when I log in there is nothing.
This has happened already 4 times in the past week.
I am afraid that I am missing important communications or even more importantly request for more docs possibly causing a delay or even cancellation of my request.

I have sent an email to question@cic.gc.ca and also called (888) 242-2100.
The problem is the email does not get responded to (I got generic automated response that they MAY respond after 10 days or may not at all)
The phone number requires application number but when I input the application number that I was given (starting with a V and 9 digit number) I am told the number should be 8 digits and the line gets cut off.

Please help.

My wedding is November 1st and I don't want to have them miss the wedding due to this frustrating application process.

It would be helpful to all that are still waiting/considering their status, etc..
