Temporary, and explain that you have applied for PR (it's called dual intent, and it's allowed: you're applying for a temporary visa while waiting for the permanent one to come through), add a copy of the fees receipt and ask for example for 9 months, as it's was is stated on the processing time for London - some posters have asked for more than 6 months matching it with the processing time from their VO and have been approved like this. SO ask for 9 months, you might only get 6, you might get 9, and most likely you will be done in London before anyway, but like this you don't have to worry about it.
Good luck,
Sweden

I asked for two extra months in case of hiccups and to give me time to land. It worked :D

I asked for a year and got it.

thankyou.

so I ask for temp! it also asks if I have family members in canada ... does my commonlaw partner count?

and it asks for proof of funds. do I show them a copy of my bank account or proof of my partners earnings?

I'm going to be applying for this on the weekend!

also which link do I select on the website to apply online? it asks me about if i want to apply in canada to return in the future? its not this one is it? because I want to remain...

thanks again!

Yes, list your CL partner. Since you won't be working, you can also claim your partner to help support you when it asks.

You want to apply to extend your stay/change conditions.

thankyou. I fill in the questionairre yeah? then log into mycic and upload copies of my passport and proof of earning and entrance stamps and a photo?

how do I upload a correct size photo if I scan it? it'll be too big surely?

i also have a question about the stamps. the last time I entered canada I didn't get a stamp. but I do have entrance stamps from when I've flown in and out. will this affect my app?

Ok, I'm a little confused by this.

I completed the questionnaire and i signed into MyCIC and started an online application and I have a few questions:

1. it wants me to download and complete IMM 5708E and then to upload it. In question 3, am I applying for "extension of my temporary residence status", "restoration of temporary resident status as a visitor" or "initial temporary resident permit or extension of temporary resident permit"? (I am from the UK on an IEC visa at present)

2. What is the document number of my most recent work permit?

3. What do I put as the purpose of my visit? Other and then say, waiting on PR?

4. Employment for the last 10 years. Only gives me 3 spaces. If I'm uploading this form, How can I put more information for my employment?

5. I have been refused a work permit extension before. Do I put this on the form?

6. How can I sign it?

7. My passport doesnt have a stamp from my most recent entry into Canada as they never did it over land, only when I have flown into Canada?

8. How can I upload a picture of myself with the suitable dimensions?

9. Should I include a letter of explanation saying why I want to stay?

This application seems more confusing than the PR app. Can anyone help me? I started feeling crazy anxiety looking at this visitor thing? Why is it so difficult?

Thanks in advance.

I'm gonna answer what I know.

Exactly that

you can upload another document later. You have to print this form to fill it out then scan it back up.

6. How can I sign it?
See above.

7. My passport doesnt have a stamp from my most recent entry into Canada as they never did it over land, only when I have flown into Canada?
That's fine, it will show up in the system

8. How can I upload a picture of myself with the suitable dimensions?
You shouldn't need a photo....

9. Should I include a letter of explanation saying why I want to stay?
You can.

thankyou parker.

it is asking for me to upload a picture of myself with the correct dimensions, the form, all my passport info and to show proof of funds. I can do all of this but the photo is confusing.

am I meant to print everything off, scan it all onto a computer and reupload it?
