Hello, please can anyone guide me if it is compulsory to have insurance for an old aged parent traveling on visit visa to Canada. if so how to get it from Canada or back home? what to check before finalizing an insurance policy? As always i highly appreciate the help members provide here to each other.

While it is not mandatory to purchase overseas travel medical insurance for a regular visit (not super visa visit), it is a very wise thing to do. Emergencies can get expensive if there's no insurance and you would not want to be in that situation (hopefully won't happen).

The insurance must cover the duration of the visit, including flights and repatriation
