Hi everyone,
I recently applied for a Canada visitor visa, but my application was refused. I would like to understand whether reapplying soon makes sense.

My Profile:
• 26 years old, India
• Full-time working professional

Purpose of Visit:
• My elder sister (34) lives in Canada and is currently 23 weeks pregnant (around 5–6 months)
• Her due date is in the first week of August
• I planned a 20‑day visit to support her and return to India.
In my cover letter I had clearly mentioned that I am going there to support my sister emotionally and to be present during this auspicious time of her childbirth, and that my visit is strictly on a temporary basis.

Documents Submitted (Complete Application):
I submitted all required documents, including:
• NOC letter (approved leave + return confirmation)
• Employment letter, salary slips
• Bank statements
• ITR for last 3 years
• Affidavit and property‑related documents
Proof of Funds:
• Personal savings in my own bank account, showing enough funds as required for a visitor visa.
• Fixed Deposit certificate and bank statements from my father’s account, also showing sufficient funds.
These funds were shown so that it is clear I can comfortably cover the trip, and that my father is fully supporting my visit financially.
Host (Sister) Documents:
• Proof of residence in Canada
• Employment proof (full‑time working professional)
• Invitation/supporting documents
Also, my parents already hold valid Canada visitor visas (approved ~1.5 years ago).

Timeline:
• Biometrics completed: 27 March
• Refusal received: 13 April

Refusal Reasons:
• Purpose of visit is not consistent with a temporary stay
• Not satisfied that I will leave Canada at the end of my stay (weak ties)

Concern:
As a 26‑year‑old working professional, I do not have major assets/property in my name, but I showed stable employment, approved leave, and sufficient funds (including sponsor support). Also, as mentioned above, I had clearly shown enough fund proof in my own savings account and in my father’s account, so that it is evident the trip is financially well‑supported and planned as a short, temporary visit.
It seems the officer was not convinced about my ties to India or the temporary nature of my visit, even though I had clearly stated in the cover letter that I am going only to emotionally support my sister and be present during her childbirth, and that I will return to India afterward.

My Questions:
1. Are others also receiving similar refusals recently?
2. If I reapply in mid‑May, are there chances of approval?
3. What specific changes or additional documents can strengthen my case & I can get for sure approved visa as I want to visit in 1st week of August & be there for 20 days.
4. What should I clearly write in my justification/cover letter to better prove that my visit is temporary and I will return to India?
Any guidance or similar experiences would really help.
Thank you!

1. Very common. You are single so no family ties, no travel history, and only tie is your job.
2/3 If you can address reasons for refusal. Coming for childbirth would have raised red flags. Consider reapplying after birth with reason to meet niece/nephew with a week long visit. Being supported by your father when you are not a dependant doesn't strengthen application.
4. Apply after birth with intent of one week visit to visit family.
