Hi all,
I am planning to invite my cousin from India just for a visit of one week. He works for one of the leading IT companies there and have a full time job. He has his family there in India (parents, elder brother and sister-in-law). However, how he can show that he has strong ties there? I mean what documents he would need. He is also planning to get a vacation approval letter from his manager which shows that he will come back to join work on a specific date. Please help!!

Thanks!

Hi,

It could seem unusual that your cousin will travel from India to visit you just for one week.

To show strong ties:
Employment: Employment letter + leave approval letter stating he will have his job when he returns + 6 months salary slips + 2 years ITRs + 6 months bank statements (nothing borrowed) + a must return by date (example, for project completion/client visit/appraisal, etc with evidence)

Family: Evidence they live at the same address + proofs that he pays for rent/utility bills/groceries (if applicable)

Financial: FDs (including letter from the bank stating these are not locked-in/not mortgaged and can be liquidated), EPF, PPF, RDs, shares and mutual funds, etc (with current valuation or accrued interest).

Also, proofs of foreign currency if purchased from RBI licensed forex dealers in his name + credit cards (2-3 months statements if the dues are low.... state he will carry these for his visit)

Other ties:
Does he own or rent property/commercial premises/land?
Has he traveled abroad for holidays?
Does he have any other commitments or responsibilities to return to?

He must submit evidence to show he is related to you (if possible).

He must prepare a day-by-day itinerary (like a typical tourist/family visitor) with expense estimates..... and prove he has the finances for this visit

Cheers

He can provide all documents that you listed under Employment section, family and financial section.
He did travel to Europe few times and it was business tour and his company sent him there for various projects as well as he traveled on his own.
But one critical question I have is last year he applied for Express Entry for his immigration. Would that have any negative impact on his visitor visa now?

No, being in the EE pool, will not have a negative impact on his TRV application. Has he received an ITA?

He must mention about his EE profile in his TRV application
