Hello everyone,

I want to sponsor my fiance to come and visit me in Canada. He is Mexican and we met in January 2013. I have been to Mexico 4 times to see him and we keep in touch everyday. I want to apply for a visitors visa.
I have the following questions :

1). Do I need to show proof of our relationship? How much proof? I have printed emails and will print Skype records etc

2) we will be getting a joint account when I go again to see him I will include that
3). Letters from friends and family stating they know him and the relationship we have
4). Forgot the obvious.. letter of invitation from me. Does it help to have others from mutual friends and family?

5) what are the pitfalls? Things to stay are from, if any..

6). Any advice welcome

Thank in advance to all who responded

The most important thing for him to show is very strong ties to his home country to prove that he will return home at the end of his visit and has no plans on remaining in Canada long term. Since he is your fiance, CIC may suspect he has plans on remaining in Canada long term. So it is actually far far more important to demonstrate his ties to Mexico than his ties to Canada. Ties to Mexico could include: proof of employment, proof of school enrollment, proof of property ownership, proof of property rental, etc.
