I am planning to apply for a Canadian Temporary Resident Visa for my brother (23 years old) to attend my religious wedding ceremony in August 2026. The visit will be short (approximately 10–12 days) and limited strictly to the wedding. My brother is a full-time undergraduate student in India (enrolled since August 2025, studies ongoing until 2028). His application will include proof of enrollment, fee receipts, and a No Objection Certificate from his college allowing leave for a limited period. A prior study gap is explained due to family responsibilities before resuming his education. He resides at our family home in India and independently manages household responsibilities, including caring for our family dog. Travel expenses will be supported by our father (employed abroad), and accommodation in Canada will be provided by me (I am a Permanent Resident).
I would appreciate feedback on the overall strength of the application, any potential red flags, and approval chances based on recent trends.

Red flags are that he is single, has no family ties (caring for dog nor living in family home is not relevant), no funds of his own and not sure if he has any travel history to US, UK, AUS or NZ. School is only reason to return which may not be enough. Not sure what study gap has to do with application. No one can tell you chances but low since single. TRVs are being refused at high rates.

Only religious wedding ceremony? There is no reception for example? What is your status in Canada? What is your immigration history? Do you have other siblings and if so where do they live? Where does your father live/work? How long has he been living abroad and have the rest of the family ever lived abroad with him? Has your brother ever applied to work or study abroad? Has he ever traveled internationally especially to other countries like US, UK, Australia, etc.? Was the travel recent? How long of a break did he take between secondary school and university? Did he work during that time?

Yes reception too after that. I am a PR. I only have just him being my only younger brother. My father lives in Dubai. He's been living there and working past 30 years. He visits us . No my brother never applied for any sort of visa. He didn't work because we were looking after our grandmother as she was the only one who raised us back there

Just being honest as IRCC now is refusing most TRVs. He applies with all documents to show that he will return. You write a letter of invitation to why he is coming to Canada, say that he will stay with you and that he is supported by his father. Include his and your dad's bank accounts with dummy airline booking showing that he will have a return ticket.

We lost our mother when we very young in 2024 we lost our grandmother too so now being present at my wedding all that matters. He had to look for her when i came here in 2023 . Now i am a PR and i will be showing funds in bank and my father will too. I know it's hard these days and he's single too. I just wanted to know what documents we can add though to make his case stronger at least from our end.
sorry i didn't wanted to be rude it's just been going thru alot

So sorry for your loss. $10k cash is a minimum amount for a visit. So you and your father need to show that plus funds to support yourselves. Given his age and you are his extended family, IRCC doesn't have to consider your funds or your father's. Hopefully they will.

Should i mention that i support him too as he's my younger brother. I'll show funds as well my dad will show his salary ceritifcate as well. He lives with our pet and he's been there with us past 8 years will that matter ? What documents shuld we provide ? If u could tell it'll be really helpful

You can but he is not a minor, not your immediate family and IRCC . He needs to include his own bank statements. Having a pet makes no difference and means nothing. So he lives with you as you say he lives with our pet and has been with us the past 8 years? Biggest issue is that he has no family ties to return as he is single and over 23 with a sister in Canada and father in a different country.

No, the pet lives in India with the brother as quoted in the first post: "He resides at our family home in India and independently manages household responsibilities, including caring for our family dog".

So not a tie to return. She is PR in Canada so her "family" home is in Canada. If the house is in his name only then show property deeds and any income from the property.

How can we prove ties in india . Because it's not in our hands that we lost everyone i guess. The property is under my father's name as he is the one who's financially supporting him . Yeah our pet has been there with my brother for past 7-8 years
Ties to return can be also like: property, job,
