Hi. I recently submitted PR application for my spouse. I want to know if I can apply for his visitor visa in the interim period. We want to be together for a family event and spend some time while his PR is being processed. How do I go about it? Anyone did something similar?

Yes, on grounds of Dual Intent. That is the intent to stay in Canada under a temporary visit visa while the spousal sponsorship is being processed. You can read more about it by researching “Dual Intent”. This is not to say you are guaranteed to be approved for one, but that there is a way to be together while the pr is ongoing.
