Hello Everyone!
I am a Canadian citizen and have been married to my Tunisian husband now for three years and we have a 2 sons under 3 years old. I just recently got employed after a long extensive search for work. I now have a full time employment. I want to know, how is the best way to go by having my husband here with us. Do I send him an invitation letter with 2 pieces of my Canadian Ids, my 3 paystubs and a notarized letter detailing that his expense's will be met by myself?

Also, I am submitting in a Spousal Sponsorship on the behalf of my husband. Do I go ahead and pursue the visitation letter to visit us here in Canada? I just don't want any problems when sponsorship comes into processing etc. Also, Do I go ahead and purchase his return ticket from Tunisia to Canada and will he need to forward that along with my invitation letter?
I Need your advice and Thank You!

I'd avoid the visitor visa - my husband is from Algeria and I wanted him to be here for the birth of our little girl last month, but his application was denied - they didn't think he would leave Canada after visiting. We're going the sponsorship route now and hoping it'll be successful!

Hi

You can try for a TRV but the chances of it being granted are very low. In order to get a TRV, a person must show that they have stronger ties to their country than they have to Canada; to CIC, a spouse in Canada is usually considered the strongest tie. If he has strong ties to Tunisia and a good travel history to other developed countries, he has a slightly better chance. Apply but understand that the chances are very low.

Get the sponsorship app started as soon as possible. Applying for a TRV won't affect the PR app in any way, even if it's rejected.

Thank You so much for your replies! :)
What kind of documents does he need to send e to complete the application? I just wan to be sure I'm not missing anything.

I know he needs his, - Health Report
- Police Clearance
- Passport
- Nationality card (Translated in English)
- 16 photos of self

Does he need his Birth Certificate?
Things I need to submit with the application:
-Marriage Certificate (stamped and Notarized by Canadian Embassy and Municipality where we got married)
- Wedding photos (signing and evening wedding party)
- Birth Certificates of babies and myself
-Airline tickets (visits)
- Western union transfers (showing support)

Am I missing anything else? All my answers are "NO" to the questionnaire of assessment of under taking as a Sponsor Applicant

Am I good to go???

No. You also need Option C printout. You should include a letter from your employer or other proof of employment.

I dont think the husband needs to send in his birth certificate.

In addition to wedding photos you can include any photos of time you two spent together and other proof of relationship.

As little_apple posted, follow the checklists; they tell you what you need to include.

You need to prove that he will go back to his home country.
By dong this you need the following:

A declaration letter (two one from you and him) need to be notarized
Employment letter
letter stating the leave that it is approved.
Travel itenary
an invitation letter from you
Bank statements
a copy of ur status in canada
If he is apart of any community or clubs.. get a letter stating that
car title
house title
assets
insurance

send me ur email addy... for further infomation

Thank you for all your wonderful responses!
Just curious, from which VO? Expectations from each one are distinctly different.

So if you are rejected, would that affect the sponsoring process later?

Also if you are approved, and when you arrive to Canada and are in the immigration booth and they ask you what you are doing in Canada, would they let you through if you say you're visiting your husband?
