I was wondering if anyone can help with a few questions I have on applying for a visitor visa extension? I am sure I am over thinking all of this but I want to make sure I get this all correct and am confused on a few things.

I am in Canada since October from the US so my six months is almost up and I want to stay for six more months with my boyfriend as we prepare to get married.

1. I never received a stamp in my passport when I arrived in Toronto by plane and they ask for a copy of your passport stamp, do I need this?

2. Is it ok to take a picture of my passport picture page and signature page for the copy of passport, also they require a current picture. Can I submit a picture of these and not a scan?

3. Also I have a bank acct here but do not keep all my money in it. I do have 4 months of statements to submit but will I still need a letter from my boyfriend stating he will support me or is paying for my "room and board" and do we need to provide his bank statements as well? Does anyone know what his letter should actual state, like a sample of what they used?

4. There is no where on the application that asks why I want to stay, should I be writing a letter myself on my intentions? I want to stay in the meantime until we get married and then apply for PR.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.

I am in Canada since October from the US so my six months is almost up and I want to stay for six more months with my boyfriend as we prepare to get married. You should apply 30 days before your status expires

1. I never received a stamp in my passport when I arrived in Toronto by plane and they ask for a copy of your passport stamp, do I need this?
Would you rather not submit a copy of ur passport and risk rejection ?
2. Is it ok to take a picture of my passport picture page and signature page for the copy of passport, also they require a current picture. Can I submit a picture of these and not a scan? jpeg is allowed. if u mean clicking a picture of ur passport with a camera, r u serious ?

3. Also I have a bank acct here but do not keep all my money in it. Do you know why u r required to submit bank statements and paystubs ? It is to show u can take care of ur expenses during ur stay in Canada. Or that someone can take care of you. There is no point submitting bank stmts with very less or zero balance.
Yes your boyfriend should write a letter as well as provide his bank stmts and/or paystubs

4. There is no where on the application that asks why I want to stay, should I be writing a letter myself on my intentions? I want to stay in the meantime until we get married and then apply for PR. Yes do write a cover letter and explain ur intentions of stay

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.

1. It's common for US citizens to not have their passports stamped. Just explain that in the app; they will be able to see your entry in the system anyways.

2. A picture should be fine.

3. A letter from your partner stating that he is supporting you is good; it should state what he is providing you with, how much he makes, how long he will support you for. There is no exact form letter, as it should be written in his own words. Include a copy of his bank statement or a recent payslip to show this.

4. Under the section "Details of Visit to Canada", Question 1a - Purpose of visit.

Thank you very much! I do really appreciate it. I know to some the questions may seem dumb but what I have learned while being here is translation of words is a huge thing and the last thing I want to do is be denied an extension as I misinterpreted something on the application. :)
