Visitor Visa Extension-1st extension still processing...looking for 2nd extension

Hi Mods,

My mother came to canada at the end of January'22 and I applied for extension in June'22.The request is till under process and I want to extend it for another 6 months:-

1) Is it normal to wait as the current processing time is 198 days which is more than 6 months? Can she stay here more than 6 months if 1st approval not received?
2) Should I wait for the 1st extension approval or apply for 2nd extension before 1 month of 6months completed?

1) Yes, it's normal and she has implied status until a decision is made.
2) Yes, you need to wait for the first extension to be approved before you apply for a second one. Don't submit a second extension now.
