hello all,

My visitor visa ( canada) is expiring this Aug. I am in USA.
Also my US Visa is expiring this Nov for which extension is already applied.

Can you please point me to the right direction if we can apply for a renewal of canadian visa. If so, how many days prior to the expiry we should apply.

If not, then is it the case that one has to apply the VISA on expiry as a new visa request?

thanks for your guidance.

There is no renewal, you need to reapply as applying for the 1st time

i do see @ cic website about renewal. there is a confusion is what is right.

You are currently in USA, above link for extending your stay in Canada- ie, when you are INSIDE Canada
In order to visit Canada, you need visitor visa and if that is expiring then you need to apply again or enter Canada before that and will be given 6 months to stay but if you leave then it expires UNLESS if you are visiting USA then you can re-enter but within 6 months ( confirm with CIC first ) and extended visitor record does say "Does not authorize reentry"
