Visitor visa - booking a flight

Hi,

I am applying visitor visa for my wife and since spouse visitor visa can be somewhat based on luck (from what i have read here), how should i go about booking a flight?

is it ok to book a flight that u can cancel within 24hours of when u pay?
or is it possible to book a flight lets say in June, and cancel a few days prior?

Depends on the airlines. They would usually hold it for you without paying, up to 72 hours. If you book now, and cancel a few days prior, be ready to pay for crazy cancellation fees. Sometimes, fees are worth half of your ticket price! So it is better to wait until you get approved.

Never advisable to book a flight before a visa is approved given would not influence the decision one way or the other given bookings can be changed or cancelled so are only a point in time. . Just have a flight itinerary showing the flights that you plan to book as well as all the other convincing documentation to support the application.

Having said above decision is of course yours if you want to accept the cancellation risk.
