Applied - April 29th (after getting AOR for my wife's spousal PR application)
Biometrics - was used from the PR application on the same day
Country - India
Visa office - New Delhi visa office

28 days is the processing time and there seems to be no update on the application.

Would take processing times with a grain of salt. All you can do is wait.

When did the eligibility start for you? Did you get the final decision once the eligibility turned to in progress?

Cause I applied on April 29th and even now the eligibility says not yet started! The processing time from India is 28 days and I'm at 36 days mark

I applied on 1st of April, got Passport request on 7th May and received Visa/Passport in hand on 3 rd of June. Though received my passport request on 7th May but eligibility and back round check updated on 28th May.

You should get any decision max in 5 to 7 days from now..

Hopefully, cause it's been soo depressing to not hear anything from them after 37 days and the tracker says eligibility not yet started

37 days is not a long time. It can take months to process some applications.

Even after AOR? This is something new! I thought Visitor Visa after AOR are usually quick (not quick Per session but around the range of the published processing time)

I think it just depends on the visa officer processing the application. My friend spouse TRV got approved within 10 days. Applied around end of april and approved around 7/8th May 2026.. Even though website said 28 days for processing..

Eligibility and background check get updated on the day the counterfoil is printed, after final review from the officer. Before that, Portal would only show the " applications approved message. Eligibility and background will show in progress before that..
