Visitor visa application in London! Need help

Hi,
I plan to travel to Canada for an academic conference (hold on 15th May) but until now still don't receive any updates from the application center. I have submitted webform 1 week before but get no reply. Don't know what to do next. Does anyone know how to accelerate the process? many thanks!!!!
Below is my timeline.

12/3: submit the online application
30/3: complete biometrics collection

for review of eligibility:
  • Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start reviewing your eligibility.
for background check:
  • We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.
 
Hmm I'm afraid I don't think there's away to accelerate the process and you have already sent in a webform. The current average processing time says 23 days (which I believe is business days though they say it's calendar) so there could be some hope that you get it in the next week or so. Do you remember what the processing time was when you applied? Did the background check status change immediately after biometrics?

Thank you very much for your replying. The reported processing time when I applied for the visa was 28 days. Unfortunately, I didn't check the status of my background after collecting my biometrics information. So the only way is to wait for that, right?
 
As far as I know, yes we have to sit back and wait. You could try raising a webform to a different visa office to see if they can get a hold of any info - however their response time is normally 30 days regardless. Good luck, hoping for the best and do update us if you get any updates.

Submitted bio same date as your but different processing time. No update till now. Sometime they may request your passport without any update on the portal and since your processing time is not that long ...hopefully u may get an answer in coming weeks

Hey any updates, please?
 
Not necessarily. Processing times are different based on the country. Some other countries have longer processing times but based on some reviews I read, it's hard to rely on the processing time in the London office. Anyway let's hope for the best.
