My wife's parents reside in Vietnam and they submitted their application for a visitor visa on May 15, 2021, which was 668 days ago. The normal processing time for this type of application is 168 days (according to their tool online), and we have yet to receive any updates on the status of their application.
We have made numerous attempts to contact IRCC for an update (by phone, email, webform) on the application but the response we receive is always the same (when they reply), stating that they are processing applications as quickly as possible.
At this point we do not know what we can do and if something can be done...
