hi, my parents and i applied for visitors visa to visit my uncle and his family in Canada from Pakistan in july 2021. we haven't received a response yet. should we submit a new application via iirc portal or wait for the original one?

in Fact I have shown their funds too, my mom doesn’t work , she has around 20k CAD liquid cash and monthly income of 450 CAD comes from pension and some banking investment. My sister holds a government position, working as secondary school teacher from last 16 years, she is earning around 850 CAD per month, she got 8,500 CAD bank deposits.

Now what’s your take on it?

As I said above, funds are just one component. Whether they have enough depends on how long the visit is. Other factors:
- ties to home country (who is remaining in the country, job letter with approved leave, investments, properties). Your sister is single so needs strong ties.
- travel history
- funds (how long is visit and once they pay for airfare/insurance, how much is left)

If you are citizen and your mother is refused then look at supervisa if you meet LICO.
